Mutts & Co.: Born From a Passion For Pets
Established in Dublin in 2007, Mutts & Co. is a passion project for Mark and Deborah Vitt. Born from Deborah’s keen interest in animal welfare and infused with her knowledge from working in the corporate retail environment, the Vitts opened Mutts & Co. with the intention of providing a comprehensive pet supplies and professional grooming services destination for Central Ohio pet parents.
Mutts & Co. was designed with natural pet care in mind. Focusing on healthy and natural pet food, treats, toys, and supplies, Mutts & Co, quickly became a neighborhood staple in Dublin for local pet owners. Over the years, six additional Mutts & Co. locations opened throughout Central Ohio as well as a prominent online shop and a human goods line called The Pet Foundry. Mutts & Co. was named National Pet Retailer of the Year by Pet Product News in 2017 and one of America’s Coolest Pet Stores by Pet+ Magazine in 2019.
Pet Wellness Education and Community Outreach
Mutts & Co. was not only designed to provide healthy pet products and grooming services. Mark and Deborah also intended to educate staff and customers on pet wellness and nutrition. Mutts & Co. creates a workplace environment where team members can gain expertise in animal nutrition and care, then pass along valuable information to pet parents.
They also support community outreach for local shelter and foster groups. Mark and Deborah work within the Central Ohio community to create partnerships and adoption opportunities for pet rescue organizations. They are active pet foster parents, and have two pit bulls of their own (Miley and Rusha) while continually opening their home and hearts to dogs in need.
Passion
At Mutts & Co. we come to work every day because we love what we do. We love the relationships we have with our clients and their pets. We are passionate about assisting in the process of finding solutions to problems that may be affecting the health and well-being of our 4-legged clients. We love the communities we work in, and the care and compassion they have for their pets. We are here to help pet owners make more informed decisions about how to best care for their pets – and we work very hard to ensure we are up to date on the most current product and health information.
Experience
Sometimes these conversations happen in our kennel-free grooming area, sometimes in our self-serve dog wash. Sometimes they take place in our expansive pet food aisles. Wherever they happen, you can be sure that we are committed to helping you be the best pet parent you can be.
Community
This passion extends outside the walls of our stores too. We are very active in the rescue and shelter community. We know that we have a responsibility to support the many organizations in our communities that work so hard to help all of the homeless pets or those less fortunate pet owners who need assistance. You might see us hosting an adoption event or a fundraising photo session. We would love to talk to you about our work and how you too might be able to make an impact.
